In 1969, Shree Sadguru Digambardas Maharaj had resolved to get built a hospital equipped with all modern facilities mainly catering to the needs of the down trodden population in the vicinity of village Dervan. With this intentions he bought a piece of uncultivated land known as “Shericha Mal”. However, project did not land into reality mainly due to the vindictive attitude of the local leaders and the shortage of resources of the trust.

However a 24 hours Free Dispensary was run to provide medical aid to the needy villagers.

On June 24, 1995, Shri Kamalakarpant Laxman Walawalkar an executive trustee and a true disciple of Shree Maharaj performed Bhoomi Poojan in the auspicious presence of Shree Kaka Maharaj.

Unfortunately on September 10, 1995, Shri Kamalakarpant Laxman Walawalkar left for his heavenly abode.But the project was continued. His wife Smt. Malatitai, son Shri Vikas and daughter-in-law Sou. Mukta, shouldered the responsibility to complete the project and displayed a marvelous determination and noble heartedness in seeing the project through under the guidance of Shree Kaka Maharaj.

On February 1, 1996, the hospital complex was inaugurated in a hearty and graceful function. It was rightly named as “Bhaktashreshtha Kamalakarpant Laxman Walawalkar Hospital and Diagnostic Centre” to cherish the memory of unparalleled dedication and generosity of Late Shri Kamalakarpant Laxman Walawalkar. The amount spent on the project is above Rs.80 million.

This is a Multi-unit Referral Centre with Ultra Modern facilities. The Out Patient Department has the following units :

Emergency Services
It has a 24 hour Emergency Service. The hospital provides all facilities to all consultants and other staff to enable them to attend the patient whenever needed even at night. All consultants are full time and they are not allowed to do private service.

Medical Facilities Available
All types of emergencies are treated in the casualty department and then shifted to particular departments such as male ward, female ward, ICU, NICU, Surgical ICU, Dialysis Unit, Radiology Department, Pathology Department. Surgeons, specialized consultants holding high qualifications such as M. D., M. S., are appointed here on residential terms

Medical Camp
Doctors and their assistants are taken to different villages to hold medical camps. Information regarding AIDS, infant care, child development and care to be taken during pregnancy is provided in such medical camps.

Operating Theaters
Hospitals’ three air-conditioned well-equipped operation theaters are looked after by highly qualified experienced surgeons where most of the major surgeries such appendicitis, ulcers, hydrocele, kidney stones, etc. are undertaken.

Subsidized Rates
Patients from lower income group are granted a concession upto 70% in the charges, which are already subsidized. The Trust also runs a chemist and druggist shop to enable the poor to purchase the medicines at subsidized rates.

Non-Medical Facilities
Free residential quarters have been provided to Doctors, Technicians, nurses and ward boys. Hospital also provides free electricity and water. Hospital also provides well furnished four room flat for Consultants, three room flat for paramedical staff. All flats are connected with cable T.V. connection. Recreation hall, Library, Table Tennis court, Badminton court, Volleyball court are also provided for the staff.

Canteen Facilities
Food is provided at subsidized rates.

Facilities for Patients Relatives
Free accomodation with attatched toilets for male and female relatives provided. There is also a common kitchen for preparing food.
