The lotus blooms in a swamp, its leaves spread over the water. It gets life from beneath the water but even if we lift the stem about 1/2 to 1inch above the water it will not be found wet, In other words, the lotus blooms out from the swamp, gets life from the same water but still stays aloof. This is exactly how one should live one’s life. One should remain aloof, unattached and one should not be affected by sorrow or happiness.
